Trade Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with Glencore, a Swiss multinational company, to discuss the company’s interest to expand mining and ore processing operations in the Philippines, according to the Department of Trade and Industry .

Glencore, a Swiss multinational company, is one of the largest and “globally diversified” natural resource companies in the world. As for nickel, Glencore said, it is a “leading producer and marketer of nickel, as well as a recycler of nickel-containing materials such as batteries.”
