PBA: Lassiter drills game winner as SMB boots out Alaska

Marcio Lassiter knocked down the game-winning triple as the San Miguel Beermen eliminated Alaska, 101-110 in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday at the Don Honorio Ventura State University Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

The Aces were up by just 100-98, but CJ Perez fed Lassiter the assist leading to the buzzer-beater that lifted the Beermen past Alaska."What we want to day is a 'W'... It's better to get to the quarterfinals with a momentum by winning against Alaska," said San Miguel coach Leo Austria. Austria said the Beermen needed a morale booster going to the next round especially after their disappointing loss to Magnolia.

June Mar Fajardo had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Chris Ross scored 17 markers. The Aces were at an advantage after Abu Tratter drain a midrange jumper that game Alaska a 100-98 edge with 19 seconds remaining."Alam nila ang philosophy namin is bigman on the post, we know they will give June Mar a hard time.
