The Pasay city government, the local police, the Liga ng mga Barangay representatives, and the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) signed a MOA to develop a community and service-oriented policing system on Friday, July 7. | ManilaBulletin

Among the signatories of the MOA were Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano, representing the city government; Col. Froilan Uy, city police chief; Julie Gonzales from the Liga ng mga Barangay; and NAPOLCOM Commissioner Alberto Bernardo.

Rubiano said the Department of the Interior and Local Government is pushing for the strengthening of the Peace and Order Councils of local government units through the adoption of the peace and order and public safety planning. Under the supervision of Uy, the Pasay police exercises supervision and control over 10 police sub-stations which are responsible for the maintenance of peace and order in the city.

Rubiano said the signatories recognized the importance of a secure and safe community, assuring that there will be activities that would contribute toTo effectively strengthen peace, order and public safety in the city, the parties have agreed to enter into a partnership to adopt community and service-oriented policing system that bolsters coordination and cooperation among the citizenry.
