Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez ordered a red alert status to their health personnel down to barangay level with the spread of 2019 nCoV virus.

Soriano also said that the City Health Office have already convene since last week and already prepared to fully adopt the Department Of Health standard protocol against the illness prior to their announcement that a female Chinese national was affected with the nCov virus last Thursday. He also said that they have also identified areas where many Chinese nationals are residing and closely coordinating with POGO operators in disseminating the prevention and detection of the virus.

The city administrator further said that as immediately needed the city government will distribute face masks to their constituents next week as a preventive approach. He said that when the Taal volcano erupted Olivarez through the city price coordinating council already issued a directive to all retailers and or dealers of face masks for maintenance of its price level and not to resort of any price manipulation.

“ The mayor will surely use his power under existing laws and ordinance to address it either by its closure, impose penalty sanctions to protect our constituents from any further harm as a consumer”, Soriano said.
