LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The provincial government aims to plant one million trees until June 2024 under an environmental rehabilitation project of the province.

Gov. Ramon V. Guico III reiterated his call to Pangasinenses to be part in greening the environment under the Pangasinan Green Canopy project.The Provincial Population Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office reported that a total of 5,892 trees will be planted this month in Pozorrubio, Mangatarem, Mabini, Alcala, Burgos, Dasol, Manaoag, Natividad, and Aguilar.

Each local government unit and their partner office or hospital must plant and nurture a minimum of 25,000 seedlings.Priority areas to be reforested are watersheds, riverbanks, coastal, and other vulnerable areas.As incentive, a reward system was established based on performance and project inputs of participating individuals and offices or groups.
