MANILA — Actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin answered Wednesday a remark from Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, questioning the relief efforts of ABS-CBN amid the coronavirus crisis.
Roque compared ABS-CBN's contributions to those of the Ayalas and Manuel V. Pangilinan, after President Rodrigo Duterte claimed he has "dismantled" oligarchy as the Congress junked the network's franchise application. The Lopez Group, which owns ABS-CBN, donated a seed money of P100 million to the initiative, aside from helping augment various health facilities amounting to nearly P200 million. Since the onset of the pandemic in the country, Locsin has led or actively taken part in campaigns to bring aid to frontline workers and vulnerable sectors.
