Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. stressed that President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive on the implementation of the ECQ does not exempt anyone.

“Kung ayaw niyo pong tumupad diyan, lalung-lalo na yung mga dayuhan, umalis na po kayo ng Pilipinas . You are free to go,” he added. Roque made the statement following reports that foreigners living at the Pacific Plaza Towers in Taguig City were violating quarantine protocols to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease.

The management of Pacific Plaza Towers Condominium Corp earlier said armed and “apparently agitated” policemen entered the compound “without some form or warrant or authorization” and shouted at residents who were lounging at a pool and garden area. However, Philippine National Police chief Archie Gamboa said the officers only made “an ordinary police response” to the supposed lockdown breach.OTHER STORIES
