Presidential spokesman Harry Roque made the statement after House Committee on Health chairwoman Quezon Rep. Angelina Tan said the two-week “timeout” granted to the medical community is “not enough” to address the problems in the country’s healthcare system. In a statement, Roque said that the fate of the MECQ is in the hands of the IATF.
“It entails a delicate balancing of protecting and saving people’s health to protecting and saving the economic health of the nation,” he added. “We understand that the effects of the recent implementation of MECQ measures in the NCR and nearby areas would be felt two to three weeks after its enforcement,” he said.
President Duterte approved the recommendation to place Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal under the MECQ until Aug. 18 following the request of the medical community for stricter quarantine measures.
If extending it will expect to reduce the new cases then I don't see a problem. But you should also revive the Bayanihan Act so bills and loans will be suspended until it's done. That way people will have less worries during the MECQ period.

No. We have recoveries. The non pharmaceutical treatments needs to be shared to the public and inform the public what they can use at home for mild conditions. Like dosages of Vitamin D, C and E. Plus what food to eat and not eat. More internal prevention options at home.
Kailangang makapagtrabaho na ang mga tao lalo na yung mga jeepney drivers na walang kita ulit ngayon. Kapag pinatagal pa, baka magkagulo dahil maraming pamilya ang magugutom. We just have to learn to live with the virus until an effectice vaccine is rolled out.
repeat. Government, in fight against Covid 19,should not rely on vaccine. But rather search and development of medicine. Why?Vaccine maybe potent only on the originally tested strain.Maybe not potent on mutated strain.Another approach is to ready our liver for battle
