“Instead of benefiting the female workforce in general, it may have a negative effect on the economic and political stability of the country,” Lascon said. “It is good to be perceived as pro-labor, especially among the 49% women population, but we should also take into consideration the long-term effect on the country’s investment climate in particular and the economy in general."filed by Gabriela Women’s party-list Rep.
But for Lacson, paid menstrual leaves may just lead to layoffs, the closing of some factories, and discourage long-term investments by prospective employers. On Saturday, Lacson posted on his social media account that the next legislative measure may soon propose to mandate “menopause and andropause allowances to increase the testosterone levels of workers.”
And that's funny. What proof shall the ladies show to their boss? A used MODESS w/ WINGS? ! Ahahahaaaa
And will only make companies discriminate more on hiring women in their workforce.
Lazy logic
Pwede charge to sick leave. Since prang sickness bcoz not all women are experiencing pain or feeling irritated.
I agree with former Sen. iampinglacson
About 12 days in a year din yun a.
Truth: There's lesser opportunity already for women caused by Maternity Leave. It's considered on the hiring process as some managers does not want to hire women considering they may have an absence of 2 months on critical moments. This proposal should be well thought off
As a woman, I agree. I suggest the privilege leave, pero hindi monthly.
I agree w Sen Ping. This bill erodes the competitiveness of our labor force. Has any SE Asia or any develooing country introduced the same type of leave? Pls look at this big picture instead of temporary gains.
True. Will the proposed bill has its own merit I’m sure there are other considerations to look into as well.
Yung nagpropose nito sa kamara siguro Ireg. 🤣✌️
Well most companies will hire more men than women if it will cost them more to have female employees (maternity and menstrual leave as against 7 days paternity leave only)
I share this concern & I don't mean to offend women who suffer from menstruation pains. Compromise. Siguro instead of giving it as an unquestionable paid leave right, require a doctor's recommendation.
Agree. This is also true for the 105 days maternity leave. Employers now hesitate to hire women because of the more than 3 months leave. They are not saying it but they're not hiring women if they can.
and the more that companies will have discrimination against women
Says the misogynist senator. Ano ba expectation nya? Lahat ng empleyadong babae mag leave lagi? The menstrual leave bill is here for those who really need it. Those who really suffer because of period cramps.
did he care to ask economists and business organizations to show data that will support his theory or is he pulling his reasoning out of thin air?
Ex Senator Lacson is correct; 365 days in a year less 52 Sundays, less 17 holidays, less 15 days sick leave by law so the remaining working days are only 281 days; kung naghahanap pa ng dagdag na araw mag absent, mailap ang asenso
May even drive employers to prefer men when hiring.
YesToPaidMenstrualLeave
Correct. The bigger picture is government telling a private company what to do. This practice will not promote forign investments.
That’s what a sick leave is for… no need to have a menstrual leave.
Who will shoulder for the leave? Government ba? If yes, then okey. If companies, Bakit? Not all companies are multi national. Some MSME can not afford this. This will be a huge burden to MSME. Majority of the empleyers and employees belong to MSME.
True
Gamitin kasi ang SICK LEAVE PAG MAY SA SAKIT HINDI SA PANG GALA OR MAY PERSONAL NA LAKAD…
Aba. Malulugi talaga mga companies pag ganyan. Wag ng bayaran.
Nag leave na, paid pa? Yaman nyo ha
true. that’s why there has to be a doctor’s certification that says this person is suffering from severe dysmenorrhea. not all women suffer from this.
Babae rin ako. This is well unthought of. Why? Whoever thought of this proposed bill need to understand na kahit nuong naging ok na sa society ang pagtatrabaho ng babae, meron at meron pa ring hahanap ng butas para matanggalan kami bg karapatan and oportunidad.
Pang reglang issue ka nalang talaga! 😂
Yesss! NoToMenstrualLeave
Some companies will see this as a demerit on hiring female employees.
Very sensitive issue, but he does have a point. That’s paid two-day leave every month. Budget and discrimination ang problem. My suggestion is offer tax incentives or whatever to companies who will implement this.
Agree! There will be lesser job opportunity to us “women.” We have SL’s, pede yun nalang gamitin.
putaaangaaaaaama ka ping lacson. this is you saying na tuloy ang buhay sa mundo kahit mawala/ isantabi/maubos ang mga babae.... di ba rurok ng katangahan!
Wait..why will it be shouldered agad by the companies? Di ba pede SSS since we contribute and kinda harder to apply so option na lang ng babae to avail.
Meron akong kawork dati na kada dalaw nya nagrerequest off sya ng 1-2 days. Every month nya yan ginawa.
Half day at kung kaya nya yung ibang work gawin sa bahay.
Reality is, we favor companies over the people who actually run the companies. Women need to justify their menstrual sickness to men thru med cert, which will entail costs on top of the usual cost of medications and pads. I wish all companies have free clinics, right?
Agree. It is not profitable for a company to hire women if govt will allow an inordinate paid leaves for women.
Just make maternity and paternity leaves longer, we have Sick Leaves anyway.
The real teacher will always be better than a sub.
🤦♂️
Who would want to hire women by then? None….who ever thought of this should seek professional help, fast.
👍
Then allow the women to be spared from these cheap companies. Where I work there are so many leave days, we don't even use them all. A reality in many companies that deserve to stay in business.
for sure companies will prefer getting male employee than female having menstrual leave
Sabi nila.
My wife disagreed sa panukala.
Totoo to. Kawawa mga business owner. Pwede naman nila sick leave yun
As much as i want a menstrual paid leave, i totally agree with sir ping. There will be lesser job opportunities for women if this becomes a law coz not all companies can afford it
Discrimination too
Just keep the store open.
