Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will be affecting some areas in Luzon and the Visayas over the weekend, especially on Sunday as the easterlies prevails, state weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday.

Likewise, PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said they are monitoring the low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility , located 1,960 kilometers east of northern Luzon.The easterlies will continue to affect the country on Sunday, according to Aurelio, adding that Luzon is expected to have slightly cloudy in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon with a high chance of thunderstorms that could bring isolated rains on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Visayas and Mindanao will have sunny weather in the morning but will have cloudy skies in the afternoon, with a high chance of thunderstorms. According to Aurelio, Metro Manila, Baguio City, Legazpi City, Metro Cebu, and Metro Davao will have fair weather with slightly cloudy skies based on the three day weather outlook from July 25 to 27.

However, in the afternoons or evenings there is a high chance of localized thunderstorms with weak to moderate to sometimes heavy rains.
