P4-M marijuana plants destroyed in Cebu mountain barangay

CEBU CITY – The police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency -Region 7 uprooted 10,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P4 million in Sitio Hikapon, Barangay Gen. Climaco, Toledo City, Cebu Friday, July 22.

The PDEA 7, Cebu Provincial Police Office, and Toledo City Police Station walked for about three hours trek before they reached the marijuana plantation in the mountain barangay. Alcantara identified the suspected cultivators of the plantation as bothers Richard and Caloy Cañaleso. On the same day, lawmen seized packs of suspected shabu worth P2.7 million from two alleged drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Aloguinsan, Cebu.

One of the greatest scams was to turn a natural medicine into something illegal. Literally destroying nature, i.e a gift from the earth, a gift from God.
