MANILA, Philippines — Tinatayang P360 milyon ang nalugi sa gobyerno dahil sa mahigit 19,000 undocumented o ghost students na nakatanggap ng voucher mula sa Expanded Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education program ng Department of Education .

Kaya tanong tuloy ng senador, kung hindi mapatunayan ang mga mag-aaral na ito ay matatawag na ba ang mga ito na “ghost students” subalit sagot ni Rodrick Edsel Malonzo, Monitoring and Processing Officer ng Private Education Assistance Committee, sa ngayon ay itinuturing pa lang nila ang mga ito na “undocumented students”.

Paliwanag naman ni Imelda Celso ng COA, hindi rin naman talagang matatawag na ‘ghost students’ ang nairekord dahil nagkaroon ng error sa monitoring at sa listahan ng mga benepisyaryo matapos na dumoble ang nakuha ng mga ito na voucher.
