The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) seized more than P31-million worth of illegal drugs in the past week. ManilaBulletin

From April 23 to 29, 4.6 kilos of shabu worth P31 million and 1.7 kilos of marijuana valued at P200,000 were seized in various police operations in the region.The PRO-7 reported that in the past week, the crime rate in Central Visayas went down by 23 percent.

Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Abellada Aberin, chief of PRO-7, said the drug haul last week highlights the effectiveness of an intelligence-driven approach and extensive anti-illegal drug drives."I hope by this time illegal drug personalities have realized that illegal drug activities have no place in Central Visayas," said Aberin.

The PRO-7 said that focus crimes in Central Visayas last week dropped by 23.6 percent with only 55 cases. Aberin said the Crime Clearance Efficiency and Crime Solution Efficiency will continue to increase in the coming days as investigators-on-case work on these cases. "We are conducting intelligence-driven anti-drug operations calculated to redound in the reduction of crimes in the region. With illegal drugs out in the streets, the community is safer," he said.
