Six containers filled with various food products and used clothing worth P11.34 million were seized at the Manila International Container Port for misdeclaration Friday.

All but one container were found to contain several boxes of canned goods and sacks of Arabica coffee beans, while one container was filled with boxes of used clothing and footwear.

Investigation showed that the seized food items were consigned to JL Twins Enterprises and Great Prosperity Import and Export Enterprises while the shipment of used clothing was consigned to FiveJhoch Enterprises. Great Prosperity Import and Export Corporation declared its shipment as chili sauce and cereals, but was found to contain boxes of corned beef. FiveJhoch Enterprises, for its part, declared its shipment as brand new clothes.
