MORE than 15,000 candidates in the October 30 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections are likely to have a breeze going through Election Day.

This as a total of 15,283 barangay and SK candidates for chairpersons were found to be unopposed, the Commission on Elections said.On the other hand, a total of 8,057 candidates for SK chairperson have no electoral rivals. The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao had the most number of unopposed bets with 1,200 for barangay bets and 1,452 for SK bets.

While there are barangays with only one candidate for barangay and SK chairpersons, there are also over 100 with nobody filing their Certificates of Candidacy .No candidate for barangay chairmen were recorded in 8 barangays.The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao also had the most number of barangays with no candidates for barangay chairmen and SK chairpersons .
