More than 137,000 infants in the National Capital Region have already received their routine catch-up immunization since November, surpassing the government’s 100% infant inoculation target.

More than 137,000 infants in the National Capital Region have already received their routine catch-up immunization since November, surpassing the government’s 100% infant inoculation target.

This exceeded the agency’s original target of vaccinating 137,000 infants in the region, bringing the total coverage rate to 100.48%. DOH said Manila City was the top performing city with the highest coverage rate relative to its respective target population, having 28,073 infants or 130% immunized. “We are very proud of this achievement not because we exceeded our target, but because having done so means that we were successful in protecting our children against debilitating but easily-preventable diseases,” DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire said.
