OPPO and European telco operators are working together to develop a rating system that will help consumers assess the sustainability of their smartphones.

OPPO and European telecommunication operators have teamed up to develop a new Eco Rating labeling scheme that will help consumers assess the sustainability of their smartphones.

The rating system has 19 criteria that demonstrate the environmental performance of the device across its life cycle, focusing on durability, repairability, recyclability, climate efficiency, and resource efficiency. It has a maximum score of 100 that will be labeled onto the device to inform consumers.Aside from this, OPPO has been implementing other environmental initiatives.
