MANILA, Philippines — Only 1.23 percent or 2,751 of the country’s entire police force remain unvaccinated against COVID-19, the Philippine National Police said Wednesday. According to numbers released by PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, 204,728 police personnel, or 91.27 percent of the PNP’s entire strength are fully vaccinated against the disease.Another 7.50 percent or 16,833 individuals have already received their first dose of the two-shot COVID-19 vaccine.
The PNP has recorded lower COVID-19 numbers recently, with new cases dropping to just nine on Wednesday. However, one senior police officer assigned to the Bicol Region passed away due to the disease, after he tested positive last November 1.
