MANILA, Philippines — A total of 294 balikbayan boxes, part of the more than 2,000 boxes abandoned by their forwarders last year after collecting money from overseas Filipino workers abroad, are still unclaimed at the Bureau of Customs warehouse.Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio on Sunday called on migrant Filipino workers and their families to claim the 294 remaining balikbayan boxes currently in BoC custody.
Recipients may also contact the BoC through its hotline number 8705-6000 or via email at boc.cares@customs.gov.ph.To claim their boxes, recipients must present at the Port Net Logistics, Inc. CFS Warehouse the passport of the sender, one valid government-issued ID proof of shipping such as invoice or bill of lading.If claimed by a representative, he or she must present a notarized authorization letter or special power of attorney and a valid ID.
