The Dole said that the “no work, no pay” policy applied to workers who had used up their leave credits but had to go on quarantine because of COVID-19.

COVID-19. “What’s important is they follow the instructions if they truly have to undergo quarantine. [W]e are saying they should attend more to [their] health than work.

Their relationship with their company will be attended to later,” Labor Undersecretary Ana Dione said. Currently, workers are given a minimum five days of sick leaves a year. Dione, however, asked businesses to be “kinder” and take care of their workers while the country was still reeling from the pandemic. —Jovic Yee
