The Marikina Valley Medical Center (MVMC) on Friday assured the public that it does not have a person under investigation (PUI) for 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) under its care.

“The management of Marikina Valley Medical Center would like to assure the public that as of today, January 31, 2020; we do not have a Person Under Investigation nor confirmed case of 2019 Novel Coronavirus as stated in our initial bulletin,” the MVMC management said in a statement.

The hospital management has also appealed to their clients to be honest with their medical history, as well as voluntarily disclose their travel history. “This way, our doctors and personnel will be able to immediately implement the protocol that the DOH has set for such cases.” “Rest assured that we are closely coordinating with the City Health Office and the Department of Health and we abide by their instructions,” they added.

The health department confirmed on Thursday the Philippines’ first case of 2019-nCoV, involving a 38-year-old woman from Wuhan, China.Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in China, is the epicenter of the 2019-nCoV outbreak that continues to spread across the globe.
