No Filipino has so far been reported among the casualties from an explosion incident in Istanbul, Turkey that killed six people, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. READ:

Turkish President condemned the “vile attack” that ripped through central Istanbul, and said it killed six people and wounded over 50 others, on November 13, 2022.

“So far, the Embassy and Consulate General have not received any report of Filipino casualties,” the DFA said in a statement on Monday, Nov. 14. It added that the Embassy and Consulate General in Turkey “will continue to monitor the situation” and report to the department any development accordingly.“The Philippine Embassy in Ankara and the Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul express their condolences to the families of those who lost their lives at the explosion in Istanbul yesterday,” it said.There are an estimated 3,000 Filipinos in Istanbul.

This figure includes household service workers, spouses of Turkish nationals, expats working in foreign companies and English teachers.
