NLEX Corp. said Tuesday it started the construction of the three-kilometer section of NLEX Connector in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
“The construction activities will be systematically and precisely undertaken to ensure safety on all fronts,” he said. The Sta. Mesa section will involve building 72 piers to support the elevated, four-lane expressway above the Philippine National Railways line. It will co-exist with the Department of Transportation’s North-South railway project and will have two interchanges at España and R. Magsaysay.NLEX Corp.
DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado committed to “provide the necessary right-of-way for the project as we target to complete this segment by end of 2022.”
