Netflix has announced a new six-part series of its popular show 'The Witcher.'

Called “The Witcher: Blood Origin,” the story takes place 1,200 years before Geral of Rivia and explores the events when “the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged into one, and the first Witcher came to be.”“This has been the toughest secret to keep! I’ve always wanted to dive deeper into the myth and lore of the Continent, and now fans will have a chance to explore it with [Declan de Barra] in prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin.

The fantasy drama series is based on the Andrzej Sapkowski book series of the same name. “The Witcher” starts Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter known as Witcher. “The Witcher” premiered on Netflix in December and became the most-watched first season on television ever for Netflix. The series will resume filming season 2 in August.
