Based on the investigation, Cardenas allegedly used a fake Facebook account bearing the name of Rodriguez to illegally solicit money for the victims of tropical storm Agaton. The suspect, however, denied the allegations.

The National Bureau of Investigation arrested a woman who allegedly solicited money using the name of lawyer Vic Rodriguez, spokesman of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

According to a report on State of the Nation on Tuesday, authorities identified the suspect as 31-year-old Caseilyn dela Cruz Cardenas. Based on the investigation, Cardenas allegedly used a fake Facebook account bearing the name of Rodriguez to illegally solicit money for the victims of tropical storm Agaton.Rodriguez clarified that he has not authorized anyone to solicit funds for their campaign and disaster relief operations.

“I have not asked from, nor have authorized anyone, to solicit funds for our campaign, disaster relief operations or for any other lawful purposes,” he said in a statement. “Let this arrest serve as a stern warning to others who form part of this group that we shall take all legal means necessary to stop their criminal activities and make them fully accountable for their deplorable deeds,” Rodriguez added.—Mel Matthew Doctor/LDF, GMA News
