The National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus in Manila will temporarily be closed to the public until January 14.

The Shrine announced the temporary closure after a priest and three of its personnel tested positive for the coronavirus disease .

“The National Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus will be physically closed starting today, Dec. 31, 2021, until Jan. 14, 2022, because a priest and three Church personnel tested positive for the COVID-19 virus,” a parish announcement read. “For the duration of the closure, there will be thorough disinfection and intensive sanitation and, hence, the churchgoers are requested to refrain from coming to the Church in the meantime,” it further read.

To ensure that there will be Daily Masses in the Shrine’s Facebook account, the National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus said there will be crossposting of Masses from the SVD Seminary and parishes. “Let us implore the Almighty God in our fervent prayers for the sick that they will be restored to good health, through the constant intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and our beloved Patron of Hope, Saint Jude Thaddeus,” the Shrine said in a Facebook post.
