Humigit kumulang dalawang tonelada ng hinihinalang shabu ang nasabat sa checkpoint ng mga awtoridad na nasa isang van sa Alitagtag, Batangas. Ang halaga nito, umaabot sa P13.3 billion, ayon sa pulisya.

Sa ulat ni Denise Abante sa GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog nitong Lunes, sinabing naharang ang van sa checkpoint sa Barangay Pinagkrusan kaninang umaga.

Sinuri ang karga ng van nang mapansin ng mga awtoridad na kahina-hinala ang kilos ng driver nang hingin ang kaniyang lisensiya. Nang tingnan ang laman ng van, nakita ang mga ilegal na droga na nakabalot sa mga plastik at nasa sako.Itinuturing ni Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr., na ito na ang pinakamalaking halaga ng ilegal na droga na nasabat sa bansa.

Hindi naman binanggit ng mga awtoridad kung saan dadalhin ng suspek ang droga. Pero nanggaling umano ang sasakyan sa Sta. Teresita, na patungong Lipa.Patuloy pa ang isinasagawang imbestigasyon ng mga awtoridad para alamin kung saan nanggaling ang mga ilegal na droga, at kanino ito dadalhin.-- FRJ, GMA Integrated News
