The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System-Regulatory Office will meet with customers of Maynilad Water Services Inc. on March 30 to discuss the bill rebates that they will get due to prolonged water service interruptions .
In its letter to Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi, the MWSS-RO said it investigated Maynilad to determine if the water company “failed contractually on its service obligations, and to impose the appropriate penalties on the Concessionaire, in relation to the said WSIs.” “Customers within the PWTP Supply Zone were found to have been deprived of water service obligation for at least fifteen , which adversely impacted their health and welfare. The MWSS RO is set to implement the financial penalty in the form of bill rebates to affected Maynilad customers within the PWTP’s Supply Zone by April,” according to MWSS-RO.
