RESIDENTS of Muntinlupa City were advised to be extra cautious after a slight increase in Covid-19 cases was noted in the city starting last week.

In a statement on Monday, City Health Office chief Dr. Juancho Bunyi said the number of active cases rose from five to 20 during the December 20 to 26 period. The average daily number for the last two weeks is at two per day as of December 26.Bunyi said travelers who took a Covid-19 test for travel purposes account for most of the increase.

All Covid-19 cases, including asymptomatic, mild, probable, suspected cases and close contacts, must undergo quarantine at home or in the city's isolation facilities if requirements for home quarantine are not met as certified by the CHO.Bunyi also urged the public to strictly observe minimum public health standards in celebrating New Year's Eve.Active cases in Muntinlupa dipped to single digits from December 16 to December 24.
