Officials of the Muntinlupa City government thanked the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) for commending the passage of an ordinance against gender-based sexual harassment. ManilaBulletin

Mayor Ruffy Biazon and Majority Floor Leader Raul Corro of the City Council issued statements of appreciation to the CHR for lauding the city’s Ordinance 2023-077, or the “Respeto sa Kapwa Muntinlupeño” ordinance.The ordinance aims to enforce the important provisions of Republic Act No. 11313 . It was passed by the City Council and signed by Biazon on May 15.

“Maraming salamat sa Commission on Human Rights sa kanilang pagkilala sa ipinasa nating ‘Respeto sa Kapwa Muntinlupeño’ ordinance o ang City Ordinance No. 2023-077! ,” said Biazon. Corro said, “We thank the Commission on Human Rights for commending the City Government of Muntinlupa for passing the ‘Respeto sa Kapwa Muntinlupeño Ordinance.”

LGUs, through local autonomy granted by the Constitution and the New Local Government Code, “can be effective partners of the national government in the attainment of national goals,” he said.
