Based on the list released on the official Facebook page of the DOT, a total of 12,952 rooms are ready to accommodate tourists visiting the world-famous island destination.
“Boracay Bulletin: Updated list of DENR , DILG , and DOT-accredited accommodation establishments as of June 4, 2019. Additional 5 establishments with 45 rooms are now accredited for a total of 358 establishments accounting to 12,952 room,” the tourism department posted. The DOT has previously reminded the tourists to only book their reservations on the establishments that are compliant with the requirements of the Boracay Interagency Task Force.
“The public is urged to avoid transactions with establishments that have not yet secured the necessary clearances, permits and/or accreditation from the DOT, DENR, and DILG, and thus have no assurance to re-open,” it said. Boracay Island was closed to tourists for six-months in April 2018 for its rehabilitation. It reopened in October.
