last October that the number of cars plying EDSA daily was at 398,000, which is already close to the pre-pandemic level of 405,000.

Among the proposals includes implementing the existing number coding scheme from 7:00am to 9:00am and 5:00pm to 7:00pm for a reported 20% traffic reduction. For a 50% reduction in traffic, the MMDA said it's eyeing an"odd or even" number coding scheme during rush hour. Metro Manila and over 60 other areas are under the most lenient Alert Level 1 status until the end of April.
