The coach of MMA fighter Jomary Torres acknowledged being disappointed with the result of the bout against Chinese-Taipei's Jenny Huang in ONE: Fire and Fury on Friday.
Torres absorbed two low blows during the first round of their atomweight match and was unable to continue. Fight officials declared the bout a no contest. "Kaya ko pa naman sana nu'ng sa umpisa," said Torres, who was looking to end a 4-fight losing skid against Huang. Her coach, former strawweight contender Rene Catalan, said he expected Huang to be disqualified. However, they were forced to settle for what he considered as unfair result.
"Masama ang loob ko. Kasi 2 knees ang ibinigay ng opponent niya. I expected she'd be disqualified. If ibe-base natin sa stoppage due to injury, dapat may deduction ang opponent, automatic dapat panalo na si Jomary," Catalan said."Kaya sinabi ko kay Jomary maghanda handa rin at baka magkaroon ng rematch," said Catalan.
