"This law is not meant to combat terrorism. It is meant to give the state the power to tag whomever they please as a terrorist.Hataman said it is clear to him that violent extremism needs to be quashed, citing how the infamous terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group operates in his province. It would also create an Anti-Terror Council – composed of top government officials – that will have the power to order the arrest of people they deem to be as terrorists.
