The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has put in place contingency measures for passengers who will still arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during the six-hour Philippine airspace shutdown on May 17.

The Manila International Airport Authority has put in place contingency measures for passengers who will still arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport during the six-hour Philippine airspace shutdown on May 17.

The airspace shutdown is in line with the scheduled maintenance or replacement of the UPS of the CNS/ATM. For his part, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines spokesperson Eric Apolonio said the agency has already coordinated with all the airlines and airport operators to prepare for the maintenance activity.

"Hopefully baka 4:30 [a.m.]… sakali baka before 5 a.m. ma-lift na natin kung maayos talaga at mabilis ang proseso," the CAAP official said.
