MANILA, Philippines: The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Tuesday warned that the temperature in Metro Manila could reach between 38 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius especially from noon to mid-afternoon.

MANILA, Philippines: The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Tuesday warned that the temperature in Metro Manila could reach between 38 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius especially from noon to mid-afternoon.Weather specialist Benison Estareja said many areas in Mindanao will also have similar scorching weather on Tuesday, where a higher heat index of 42 degrees Celsius could be recorded.

Cebu, Tacloban and Iloilo would likely register a heat index of 39 degrees Celsius, the weather agency said.Pagasa said a heat index of 42 degrees Celsius falls under the 'danger level.'Heat index is what the temperature feels like to the human body when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature.
