Manila and Navotas get the ball rolling for COVID-19 vaccination of senior citizens.

Some local government units in Metro Manila began this week the inoculation of senior citizens, who rank second in the priority population groups for the Philippines’ COVID-19 immunization drive after frontline health workers.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno said his city government aims to inoculate all 2,280 senior citizens who pre-registered for vaccination. The city hoped to vaccinate 200 elderly Filipinos within the day. “A2 and A3 are next on the list. Remember we have a QCitizen ID registration, which makes it easier for us to contact senior citizens and persons with disabilities because we have a database already,” QC PAISD head Engelbert Apostol said in a mix of English and Filipino.
