Paliwanag ni MMDA chairman Benhur Abalos na sa Metro Manila pinakamadaling magkaroon ng hawahan ng Delta Variant dahil ito ang sentro ng komersyo, negosyo, at pangunahing port of entry.

Matatandaang may ilang rehiyon sa Pilipinas na nakapagtatala ng mas mataas na kaso ng COVID-19, dahilan para manawagan ng dagdag-bakuna ang mga lokal na pamahalaan. Una nang nabanggit ng mga eksperto na mas nakahahawa ang Delta variant, na unang na-detect sa India. Kamakailan ay may nadiskubre pa umanong mas transmissible na Delta variant plus na na-detect sa tatlong states sa nasabing bansa na may halos 200 dosenang identified cases.
