Meta is now developing a way to curb unwanted nude photos on Instagram DMs! GIZGUIDEPH GadgetCoach TechPH Meta Instagram

Meta is working to heighten protection for Instagram users against unwanted nude photos in their DMs. This is a prevalent issue in the platform. Both men and women Instagram users will eventually receive unwanted nude photos from creeps in their DMs. What's scarier during the social media era is that minors could also be exposed to predators that employ this tactic.

Meta, the parent company of Instagram, says that a new feature is in development to protect Instagram users from these. The optional user controls will allow you to automatically filter direct message requests containing offensive, sexual, and disturbing content. To assure user privacy, Meta states that the feature will not allow the company to view the actual messages or share them with third-party companies. We can speculate that some form of AI or machine learning will be used for this. Meta said that more details will be unveiled as the feature becomes more polished.

Sending unsolicited pics is now called Cyberflashing. Cyberflashing, although not exclusive to women, is mostly experienced by female users. These messages are usually sent by overeager men to harass women with the idea that the latter will be impressed by their dingdongs. With this move, Meta hopes that it can create a safer environment for everyone on Instagram.
