The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) on Saturday said Severe Tropical Storm PaengPH caused temporary power interruptions which affected over one million customers.

In an advisory, Meralco said that it has recorded momentary and sustained power interruptions affecting 1,143,499 customers across its franchise area since Saturday morning.

“As of 11:00 a.m. today, affected customers are already down to 101,516, majority of them are in parts of Batangas and Quezon and the rest are in parts of Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan,” the company said.Meralco urged customers to report power outages and other concerns, customers through its Facebook and Twitter accounts or by texting the following numbers: 09209716211 and 09175516211 .
