Nearly 2 million customers of the Manila Electric Company experienced rotational power interruptions on Saturday, June 1, due to the red alert implemented on the Luzon Grid , according to the distribution utility firm. Meralco said it implemented manual load dropping lasting an average of 1.5 hours starting at 2:17 p.m., with services fully restored at 11:47 p.m. Among those affected were customers in Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Metro Manila, Pampanga, Rizal and Quezon.
