Meet the cast of Netflix's 'One Piece' live-action series

We’re one step closer to seeing the Straw Hats Crew in action! Netflix has named the official cast forThe streaming platform made the announcement by uploading “Wanted” posters for each actor. “Meet the Straw Hats in Netflix’s live actionIñaki Godoy will portray the titular character of Monkey D. Luffy. He will be joined by Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Netflix also released a 30-second video of the cast saying how excited they are to be part of the project. Godoy was also heard saying Luffy’s line, “I can’t wait to become the Pirate King,” in the clip. Following the cast announcement, Eiichiro Oda, creator of the manga, released a note about the development of the series. Oda is also listed as one of the upcoming show’s executive producers.

“We decided on this cast after numerous discussions involving people around the world. These are the people who will be our Straw Hat Pirates!” “It’ll take a bit more to get the show done, but we’ll continue to do our best to deliver a show that we’re confident will be enjoyed by everyone around the world! Look forward to more updates in the future,” he added.
