Rory McIlroy boosted his Ryder Cup preparations with a last-hole birdie that could help him avoid the cut in the BMW PGA Championship as two of his rivals clashed with fans at Wentworth on Friday, Sept. 15.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy watches his drive from the 14th tee on day two of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Golf Club, south-west of London, on Friday, Sept. 15.

McIlroy's playing partner Ludvig Aberg maintained his brilliant form by sharing the lead with fellow Swede Sebastian Soderberg on 10 under. MacIntyre was playing alongside Ryder Cup team-mates Justin Rose and Matt Fitzpatrick and carded a 69 to make the cut.
