“When I started my yoga and meditation journey, I honestly thought that it was just a physical and mental practice that was meant to keep our bodies fit and our minds sharp. After diving deeper into this rabbit hole, I realized that it is so much more than just asanas and breathwork,” she said. But it was more than what she expected as “this practice is what has helped me develop a healthy and strong relationship not only with myself but also with the energies surrounding me, the Universe as a whole and God, the Divine Source.”
“I noticed that the more I devote my time and energy to this daily ritual, the more I become in tune with myself,” the actress observed.“By showing up on my mat [every day], I am able to check in with myself, communicate with my body, observe my thoughts, calibrate my energy, nourish my soul and connect to God. This is how I start my day. This is how I heal and find inner peace,” she said.
Magalona and husband Rob Manaquil are yoga instructors and have been deepening their yoga practice while based in Bali, Indonesia for the past year. With that, she is set to head a gentle yoga and meditation class at the virtual wellbeing festival YOUfest on Feb. 27 at 8 a.m.
