PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. vowed on Monday, July 25, 2022, to make seeking and receiving aid from the government easier and simpler during his term.

“The Department of Social Welfare and Development has a large part to play in all of this. Magpapatuloy ang ating pagkalinga sa ating mga kababayan na lubos na nangangailangan,” he said. Marcos said he ordered the DSWD to preposition food packs and other essential relief items in the local government units before the onslaught of calamities.

He said they will also ensure a harmonious coordination between the DSWD and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development for the implementation of Shelter Assistance Program, as well as the strengthening of “Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations” for victims of disasters.
