MANILA, Philippines: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday ordered the Department of Energy (DoE) to 'closely monitor and coordinate with all stakeholders to address the situation' after the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) declared red and yellow alerts in the Luzon grid.

MANILA, Philippines: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday ordered the Department of Energy to 'closely monitor and coordinate with all stakeholders to address the situation' after the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines declared red and yellow alerts in the Luzon grid.In a statement posted on his social media, the President said he has also directed all government offices 'to set the standard in conserving energy and minimizing power consumption.

'Let's adopt energy-efficient practices and stand together to overcome this challenge,' the President added.The NGCP issued red and yellow alerts for Luzon and the Visayas on Tuesday due to the forced outages from several power plants.In its advisory, the NGCP said that the Luzon Grid will be on red alert from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and will be on yellow alert from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
