Marcos suspends Maharlika’s IRR

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the suspension of the implementing rules and regulation of the Maharlika Investment Fund , his office announced Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023.

Earlier, Pimentel noted the absence of an “iron-clad” provision in the Maharlika law that will ensure that pension funds will not be touched or compromised.He said the threat that the pensioners’ hard-earned funds will be touched for the MIF “is still very much alive” and it should be prevented at all cost.
