President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Monday that there have been progress made in the discussions on whether the government will allow the housing of Afghan nationals as requested by the United States.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga —

“Well, we have not given ourselves a deadline. What we are talking about is that we’re trying to see what are the problems, what are the issues arising and in so doing, we are trying to find ways to remedy those issues that we feel are something that we have to deal with,” Marcos said. Marcos said he would like to manifest the Filipinos’ “instinct of hospitability,” however, this specific request of the US is complicated as there are political and security concerns.
