President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has assured the Social Security System of his support as he commended it for being a “bastion of stability” for every Filipino in the private sector, most especially when they are in need.Marcos said this as he graced the 65th anniversary of SSS in Quezon City on Friday, September 30.

“For more than six decades, the SSS has been a bastion of stability for every Filipino in the private sector. And the SSS has done this by empowering our employees with equitable and world-class protection, ensuring that they will have a safety net during life’s most difficult moments,” he said. “With programs like these, which are timely, which are sensitive, which are aware of the condition of our employees, that is then the SSS has much reason to celebrate its 65th birthday,” he said.

According to the President, the SSS’ critical role in strengthening the country’s social protection is more crucial than ever as the Philippines continues to recover from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and shocks from the geopolitical events in the world.
