Rep. Co attributed the decline to “a government hard at work that puts more people at work,” as the PSA reported that from 2.15 million jobless Filipinos in January 2024, the number went down to 1.8 million in February 2024, bringing the unemployment rate from 4.5% to 3.5%. The lawmaker also lauded the Marcos administration for being able to bring down underemployment, from 6.39 million underemployed Filipinos in January 2024 to 6.08 million underemployed Filipinos in February 2024.
